Dr. Tanya Warnaars (female), External Project Coordinator at the ECMWF. She is a Scientific Project Manager and Knowledge Exchange specialist with background in Ecohydrology. She is currently responsible for coordinating externally funded research projects across ECMWF and provides project management and coordination support to several projects, founded by Horizon Europe and H2020. Previously she worked as a Science Officer at the European Science Foundation and holds a Fellowship at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology where she worked 2007-2019. She has coordinated numerous interdisciplinary international projects, working to promote the use of science in decision-making. Further to coordination, her role included working to promote research-into-use by networking with a wide range of users as well as drafting articles, and other web-based communications. Coupling her project management skills with a background in environmental sciences, she holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from University of Minnesota (USA), and is qualified Prince2® management practitioner.
