The CoCO2 project has been taking part in the 2022 UNFCCC Conference of the Parties, also known as COP27, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The aim was to show the results from the project, as well as the roadmap towards the Copernicus greenhouse gas emissions monitoring service, at global and local scales. Project coordinator Richard Engelen presented at a side event organised by the ICOS Research Infrastructure, entitled “Systematic observation of greenhouse gases (GHG) to support climate action in cities and regions”. The presentation included the outcomes from the CoCO2 workshop that was organised together with ICLEI.
